Abstract

We present a probabilistic extension of action language BC+. Just like BC+ is defined as a high-level notation of answer set programs for describing transition systems, the proposed language, which we call pBC+, is defined as a high-level notation of LPMLN programs---a probabilistic extension of answer set programs. We show how probabilistic reasoning about transition systems, such as prediction, postdiction, and planning problems, as well as probabilistic diagnosis for dynamic domains, can be modeled in pBC+ and computed using an implementation of LPMLN.

Multi-valued Action Languages in CLP(FD)
Action description languages are expressive instruments for formalizing planning domains and planning problem instances. The paper proposes a methodology to encode an action language (with conditional effects and static causal laws) The approach is then generalized to raise the use of constraints to the level of the action language.

Elaboration Tolerant Representation of Markov Decision Process via Decision-Theoretic Extension of Probabilistic Action Language pBC+
We extend probabilistic action language pBC+ with the notion of utility as in decision theory. The idea led to the design of the pBCplus2mdp system. This paper is under consideration in Theory and Practice of Logic Programming.

Bridging Commonsense Reasoning and Probabilistic Planning via a Probabilistic Action Language
An intelligent agent needs to perform complex sequential decision-making tasks. The previous work on this line of research led to the framework called "interleaved commonsense reasoning andprobabilistic planning" (icorpp)

A Structured, Probabilistic Representation of Action
We believe that uncertainty should be explicitly represented and reasoned about. We develop a probabilistic representation for states and actions, based on belief networks. We also use a CBN to represent the intrinsic relationships among entities in the environment.

Foundations for a Probabilistic Event Calculus
PEC is an Event Calculus (EC) style action language for reasoning about probabilistic causal and narrative information. Its semantics are given in terms of possible worlds which constitute possible evolutions of the domain.
